New location for Palyul Centre UK

Our work in the Palyul Centre UK continues the legacy of HH Penor Rinpoche, to whom it was very important to establish a learning centre in the UK to provide opportunities for those of every background to access and learn more about the vast and profound teachings of the Lord Buddha.

The new location was bought in November 2025, at 60 White Hart Road, Plumstead, SE18 1DW. It had been a timber yard with some outbuildings, and we are in the process of applying to the Royal Borough of Greenwich for change of use and planning permission.

The Palyul Centre UK is planned to encourage neighborhood groups to use the space for various activities and events, and additionally be available for weekly classes such as meditation and yoga. Provision of a café will support these activities. The venue can also be rented out for functions, with the areas being able to be used separately or be opened fully to provide maximum space, when the shrine area can be screened off.

Accommodation for visiting teachers and monks is included in the plans, which could also be rented out to bring income to contribute to the ongoing costs of the centre.

To do this and envisage the new centre, we are working with Becoming X, a local architectural practice which knows the area very well and has provided drawings to help visualise the project

Due to the scale of the works involved, the project will have to be done in stages, so the initial fundraising target is £150,000.

We very much appreciate the generosity of our supporters over the years, and are very grateful for all donations.
